1.How to log in

To log in to WebAssign the first time, you need to go to the website http://www.webassign.net/login.html and know the CLASS KEY, which your instructor will give you.

You click on the "I have a Class Key" icon below the login prompt.  WebAssign will request your course key and ask you if it is for the right class.

You will then be prompted to give a username and a password.  If you have used WebAssign at DU in the past, you may use your existing username and password.  Otherwise, you can make one up--whatever you like.

You will also be prompted to input your first and last name--please give it as it appears at the registrar--and your email address.  You do NOT need to give your Student ID number.

To log in to WebAssign again, go to the site and input:

Once you submit this info, you should be in WebAssign.
If it rejects this info after a few tries, immediately EMAIL YOUR INSTRUCTOR OR TA so s/he can verify you are in the WebAssign roster.

2.What if I forget my password?

Contact your instructor immediately and s/he can reset your password.

3.How to register an access code

When you enter WebAssign for the first time, it will ask you to input an access code so that you are registered to WebAssign.
That access code can be found on the
white slip of paper with the red Webassign logo that was packaged with your book when you opened it up.
There is perforation on the side of the paper and you will open up the slip to reveal the access code inside.
Notice it will ask for a "prefix," which is written on your slip with the access code.

If for some reason it doesn't take your access code, immediately CONTACT YOUR INSTRUCTOR OR TA.

4.How to get around WebAssign

For all other questions on using WebAssign, refer first to the handbook that was packaged with your textbook (also available via the "Guide" link on the upper-right corner of the WebAssign navigation panel).  You can also click the "Help" link in the upper-right corner of the WebAssign navigation panel.  There is an "Intro to WebAssign" assignment that you are expected to take that goes over some of the highlights of the WebAssign system.  Talk to friends and ALERT YOUR INSTRUCTOR if you have any technical problems with the service or a particular assignment or question.

5.Reporting potential errors in WebAssign questions

I have had several concerns about what students believe is a problem when WebAssign marks an answer wrong. (Remember that you do
have multiple tries to enter an answer to each problem.) If you have truly thought about the problem, and think that WebAssign is incorrect,
please use the following procedure to report it to me.

If you do this, I will have enough information to determine whether your answer is really correct or not. If it isn't correct, I will be able to give you more informed advice on how to solve the problem.  If you are correct, I will save your e-mail and restore your points after the homework deadline. In addition, I will have enough information to send a report to WebAssign.
