The Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver
offers two programs that can be combined with a degree in mathematics.
- The Teacher
Education Program - a 40 credit hour minor that is completed during
senior year and includes all of the requirements for an elementary,
secondary or K-12 teaching license.
- The
Dual Undergraduate/Graduate Degree Program - a program of study which
includes the course work for licensure in the State of Colorado, as well as
completion of a bachelor's and master's degree in five years.
For these programs, the College is seeking students who have
taken courses which cover the following content areas:
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Trigonometry
- Calculus
- Probability and Statistics
- History of Mathematics
- Computer Science
Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus are covered in the required
courses: Calculus (MATH 1951-1953), Calculus of Several Variables (MATH 2080),
and Linear Algebra (MATH 2060).
We also recommend the following
elective courses to students interested in these programs:
- Introduction to Probability (MATH 3080)
- History of Mathematics (taught as topics course - MATH 3705)
- Introduction to Geometry (MATH 3400)
- Introduction to Computing (COMP 1670) or Intro to Computer
Science I (COMP 1671)
