Banquet: The banquet will take place during 7:15-9:15pm on Wednesday August 6^th in the Choir Room of the Newman Center. The cost of the banquet is $25 per person. Please select the corresponding option when registering on-line.

Excursion: On Friday afternoon, we will make a trip to the Garden of the Gods, a beautiful nature center situated just at the beginning of the Rocky Mountains featuring beautiful red rock formations uplifted by plate tectonics.  We will meet at 1:50pm in the circular drive by the Mary Reed building.  The bus will leave at 2pm and drive down to the Garden of the Gods - about a 45-50 minute drive.  We will get off the bus and visit the visitors' center to learn about the history of the formations.  At 4pm we will watch a movie explaining the processes involved in the red rock formations and the Rocky Mountains.  After that, we will board the bus with a guide who will take us around the park for one hour.  About half way through the hour-long tour, we will get out of the bus and go on a walking tour with the guide.  After that, wander around the park for a bit, and then we board the bus again by 7pm to return to DU by 8pm.  It is a good idea to bring a bottle of water and sun block or a hat, since we are at high altitude.
